Doris Ann Hornsby

Mrs. Doris Ann Hornsby, age 72 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away July 9, 2017. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Boots and Era Mae Williams. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene and Perry Williams. Doris had worked as a Kindergarten teacher for many years at Mt. Vernon Christian Academy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove and conducted a Ministry for Women at the Henry County Jail. Doris loved children and led many people to Christ with her love for Jesus and her radiant smile. She never met a stranger. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, George Hornsby; children, Keith Hornsby of Columbus, OH, Kim Hornsby-Fitzsimons (Ray) of Stockbridge, GA and Kevin (Jody) Hornsby of Old Towne, FL; grandchildren, Sarah Robles, Seth Fitzsimons, Samuel Fitzsimons, Sharon Fitzsimons, Shelby Hornsby-Martin, Trenton Hornsby and Coleson Hornsby. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 – 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove. Her son, Rev. Kevin Hornsby will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough.
