Elaine Whitmire, age 86, of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 30, 2023. She was born August 17, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late George and Ollie Mae Chandler Alls. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Alls. Elaine was a graduate of Roosevelt High School - Atlanta, Class of 1955. She retired from Sonoco Products and was a member of Oak Hill Church of Christ in Covington. Elaine loved taking trips to the mountains. She was an avid reader and bowler and enjoyed working puzzles and doing cross stitch. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Charles Whitmire; children, Jan (Marty) King of McDonough, Randy Whitmire of Blairsville, Donnie Whitmire of Atlanta and Scott (Tonya) Whitmire of McDonough; grandchildren, Sheryl, Dana, Bren, Brandon, Brittany, Grace and Luke; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Sanford Alls of Dallas, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit the family Monday from 12:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service.
