

Mr. Fred Richard Watts, Jr., age 75 of McDonough, Georgia passed away October 12, 2014. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Fred Richard Watts, Sr. and Gwynelle Mae Robertson Watts. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Reece Watts in 1993. Fred served his country in the National Guard. He worked for the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trade where he worked at Dwoskin’s Decorating among many others. Fred retired from DeKalb Medical Center at the age of 62. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years, all the way up to Explorer’s and was a Life Scout. He was a Mason and was in Civil War Reenactments for several years. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, working in his yard, being around horses and spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his children, Richard and Kelli Watts of Spring, TX, Kathy and Wyatt DeWitt of Overland Park, KS, Linda and Mark Bell (his best friend and hunting Buddy) of Locust Grove, GA; grandchildren, Jason DeWitt, Meghan DeWitt, Mindy Watts, Jamie Watts, Shelby Watts, Emily Bell and Samantha Bell; great grandson, Dean DeWitt; sisters, Gwen Marie Wooster of St. Petersburg, FL and Elizabeth Harris of Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Philippi Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Seabolt officiating. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
