

Mr. George Couch passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his devotion to family, and the deep love he held for his wife, children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born on January 1, 1949 in Fayetteville, GA to the late Lorene B. Couch and Melba Henderson Couch, Sr. George was also preceded in death two brothers Melba Henderson Couch, Jr., and Jesse Claude Couch and one sister, Mary E. Banks. George is survived by his lifelong wife and friend, Debbie Couch, and his children: Tabetha and her husband, Danny Hammond. Grandchildren: Jessica and Demi Hammond (and her husband Joe Workley), Phillip (Madeline) Hammond, Jr, and Great-granddaughter: Wylee Kay, Ricky Couch and wife, Melissa, Granddaughters: Katelyn, Jessica Couch (and her husband, Trey Cranford), Summer (and her husband, Wyatt Bruce), Laura (and her husband, Hunter Collier), Tiffany ( and her husband, Brandon Duffer), James Cunningham Great-grandchildren: Kali, Rollins, Jace, Marley, Lainey, Luke, Collins, Paisley, Karter, Camille, and Klaire. Bonnie McDevitt and Matt Smith, Grandson: Brett McDevitt (and his wife Felicia), and Granddaughter: Maggie McDevitt (Seth) and Great-grandchildren: Gunner and Greyleigh McDevitt and one brother, Wayne Couch of Senoia. George is also survived by Julie and Lance Peeples, along with their children and grandchildren, who brought great joy to his life. He leaves behind his favorite people, including those in his hunting club and his family at Southeastern Freight Lines. And a large and loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will continue to live on in each of them. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. A Celebration of George's Life will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel at Haisten Funerals and Cremations in McDonough, Georgia.
