Mr. Harold Floyd Ridley, Sr., 94 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 31, 2021. He was born in Lindale, Georgia to the late Floyd and Frances Ridley on February 13, 1927. Harold was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ridley, sisters, Emma Abernathy, Mary Harris and Cornelia Meeks and his daughter, Selina Ridley. He graduated from Rome High School and attended GA Tech for 2 1/2 years. He was in the Navy during the Korean war and served for 2 1/2 years and the reserves for 12 years. Harold worked for General Motors for 38 years as a supervisor and was involved in the GM Salary Retirement Club. Harold enjoyed fishing, traveling in his motorhome and was a member of the GA Fun Seekers RV Club. He was a president of the Senior Golf Association of Atlanta and a president of the GM Bowling League. Mr. Ridley is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Ridley, son Harold F. Ridley, Jr., of Columbia, TN, grandchildren, Greg Skowronski of Decatur, GA , Drew Floyd Whitehead of Newnan, GA and Richard Chlebowski of NC, Kim Mulder of Apex, NC, Lauren Skowronki of Boise, ID seven great grandchildren, and sisters, Sarah Elizabeth (Bill) Horsley, Melinda Wynette Gaddis and Joan Kay Harwell all of Rome, GA. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Henderson and Son North Chapel in Rome, GA. The family will also receive friends at 10:00am on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough, GA with a funeral service following at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Park also in McDonough.
