Mrs. Imogene Loeta Ball, 79 of McDonough passed away at home on September 29, 2020 with her loving husband, Rodney of 59 years, by her side. She was born January 6, 1941 in Greenville, S.C to the late Percy Olan and June Violet Stokes. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Joan Rumsey, Tim Stokes and Loraine Stokes. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She always had a smile on her face and had an infectious laugh. Jean enjoyed traveling with her husband, Rodney and had visited all fifty states and many other places in the world. As a school crossing guard for 44 years, she assisted children to cross the street safely at the corner of Lake Harbin and Maddox Road in Morrow, Georgia. Jean touched the life of every child that crossed her path as well as their lives touching hers. Jean and Rodney were part of the JOY Ministry at Sharon Church, where they were active in many church functions . She is also survived by her children, Belinda (Charles) Roberts of Milledgeville and Renae (Doug) McClure of McDonough, grandchildren, Jordan Roberts, Evan Roberts, Cody McClure and Kelsey McClure. Three brothers and one sister, Marion (Joyce) Stokes of Taylors, S.C., David (Lois) Stokes of Greer, S.C., Shelia (Tony) Spagnolo of Lyman, S.C. and Dan Stokes of Chesterfield, VA. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Rev. Jeff Ayers will officiate the funeral service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Sharon Church in McDonough. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
