Jane Ahmad

After she retired as an elementary school teacher with The School District of Philadelphia, Jane continued her love of working with children at The Free Library of Philadelphia. She enjoyed her role as an After School Leader for The Literacy Enrichment After School Program. She also sponsored events at the library. Jane loved being surrounded by and helping the youth of her community. Her coworkers and the children they served were the highlight of her day.

Jane enjoyed socializing, attending community events, and being surrounded by family and friends. She will be remembered as a kind, supportive, and loving friend and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Latifa Ahmad of Charleston, WV, and Tahira R. Ahmad of Philadelphia, Pa; sons-in-law, Alarick T. Wright and Stanley A. McDaniel; grandchildren, DaShaun K. Smith, Tyree S. McDaniel, and Laila S. McDaniel; siblings, Celesteon “Jimmy” Dugan and Donna M. Seapoe; and 5 nieces and nephews.

Her final resting place will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made online to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org)
