

Jerry Dalton Dorris was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Jerry was born in Jonesboro, Ga on October 11, 1958 to the late Hoyt and Miralyn Dorris and passed away on May 23, 2021. During his 62 years, Jerry developed a love for Rock and Roll music that led him to playing and collecting guitars. His inventive mind also showed in his drawings and creative "re-engineering" of Hot Wheels. Jerry also enjoyed the simpler life and times depicted in classic TV shows like The Andy Griffith Show as well as the beauty found in the Bonsai Tree.
More than anything, Jerry had a deep love of family. A family made up of his wife Arlene, daughter Abby, son Jeremy, brother Eddie and his wife Tam along with nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Jerry's family will host a visitation for those family and friends on Friday May 28, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of McDonough West Campus. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm and interment at Sherwood Memorial Park at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Children's Scottish Rite Hospital or the Ehlers-Danlos Society in Jerry's name.
