Jessie Walker Nicholson

Jessie Nicholson 92, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side. Jessie was born in Durham, N.C. on October 24, 1928 to Howard C. and Lura Walker. She was the widow of Leroy Nicholson (D.1972). Jessie was a retiree of Bellsouth, she enjoyed living life of helping and serving others. She was a devout Christian who loved leading others to Christ. Her greatest joys in life were her family and sharing her wisdom with others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, quilting, bingo and reading. She was preceded in death by one brother, H.C. Walker Jr. and sisters Ann Mason and Doris Payne. Those who will treasure her memory and honor a life well lived are her children and their spouses; James & Angela Nicholson, Kenneth & Melinda Nicholson, Lura Kay & Mike Whatley, Jenny Nicholson, Barry & Angela Barnes (D. 2016) Nicholson, Susie & Jeff Richardson, Wanda Nicholson & Alan Tesney. Siblings: Ollie Walker, Haden Walker, Abner Walker, Donald "Duck" Walker, Helen & Grady Nunnally, Belton & Robbie Walker, Roger & Linda Walker and Olin Walker. Jessie has 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several adopted children and grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Jessie was a wonderful, caring person and loved by everyone. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever be remembered. The family will receive friends at 12pm on Sunday, December 6, 2020 followed by a graveside service at 2:00pm at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
