Mr. Jim Mitchell Steele, age 79 of Hampton, Georgia passed away April 29, 2014. Jim was born in Hampton, Georgia to the late Thomas Mitchell and Edna Earl Brown Steele. He was preceded in death by a son, David Mitchell Steele. Jim faithfully served his country in the United States Army National Guard and retired after 30 years an over the road truck driver. He was a member of Berea Christian Church and former members of Woodmen of the World and the Jaycees. He was a former Henry County Commissioner for District 2, worked for the Census Bureau covering over seven states and was a farmer. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding his birds and Native American Indian activities. Survivors include his children, Cindy Steele-Kilen of Hampton and James T. Steele of Hampton; granddaughters, Kristianna, Andrea and Monica Kilen and Christy Steele; great grandchildren, Hunter, Kimber and Kaleb Tidd. Graveside Memorial Services for Jim Steele will be conducted Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Berea Cemetery in Hampton.
