Joey O’Connor, 59, of Locust Grove, passed away on March 28, 2022. His loss was unexpected, and the family is deeply saddened. He is/was a loving and hard working husband, father, Pawpaw, and the best mechanic around. A friend to everyone. From greasy work clothes, to grilling ribs and the hottest peppers you could find, to softball games and grandkid parties, he did it all.. with the silliest jokes, nicknames and impressions to keep us all laughing. He’s one of a kind and he will be terribly missed by all who loved him.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtie O’Connor, a brother Mark O’Connor, and a sister Cindy Kontoes.
He is survived by his wife Annette, children Monica Caudle (Shaun), Joseph O’Connor (Reagin), Jamey Phillips (Case), Andrew (Mal) O’Connor (Jamie), bonus daughters Nikki O’Connor (Keith), and Lorna Butler, grandchildren Hayden, Emma, and Payton, Hunter, Haylee, Makinleigh, Rylee, Blayke and Easton, Magnolia, Summer, Aaliyah and Grayson, his siblings David O’Connor, Sherrie Jones, Amanda Polluck, Pam Wheeler, and Patricia Early, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Cremation is under the direction of Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough, GA. A family-hosted memorial service will be held at High Falls State Park, 76 High Falls Park Dr. Jackson Ga, in the Group Shelter on April 24, 2022 at 1 pm.
