Julius Wayne Hammock Sr.

Julius Wayne Hammock, Sr., age 70, of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 5, 1951 to Julius Henry Hammock, Jr. and Drussilla Howard Hammock-Maddox. He was preceded in death by his son, Marcus Lee Hammock and a grandson, Blake Hammock. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking and coaching kid’s sports. He was a sheet metal worker for 50 years. Mr. Hammock is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shayne Hammock, children, Wayne (Christi) Hammock, Jr. of Hampton, GA, Jamie (Emily) Hammock of Jonesboro, GA and Scott (Britney) Hammock of Williamson, GA. Five grandsons, CPL. Cameron Hammock, Cody Hammock, USMC RCT. Chaz Hammock, Carson Hammock and Hunter Hammock. Mother, Drussilla Hammock-Maddox, his sister, Brenda (Michael) Green of Rockmart, GA and his brother, Rev. Larry (April) Hammock of Soperton, GA. Uncle Pat (Barbara) Fox of Woolsey, GA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021 followed by a Celebration of Life in our chapel at 2:00 PM. Rev. Larry Hammock will officiate.
