Laura U Hayes

Mrs. Laura June Upchurch Bass Hayes, age 94, of Locust Grove, GA passed away July 27, 2016. Mrs. Hayes was born in Atlanta, GA the daughter of the late, Leila Mae Moon Upchurch and Elmer Toy Upchurch. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Reeves Bass; son, Milton Reeves Bass JR; two brothers, Bobby and David Upchurch. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, decorating and was known for being an immaculate house keeper. Survivors are her husband, of 46 years, Joseph Graham Hayes of Locust Grove; children, Mack Bass (Debbie) of Daytona, Donna Bass Davis (Eddie) of Locust Grove; step children, Gloria Hayes Norris of Locust Grove and Joseph Hayes, JR. of Douglasville; grandchildren, Christopher and Chad Davis of Locust Grove; great grandchild, Aubree Danielle Davis; siblings, Elmer T. Upchurch JR (Betty) of Dacula, Juanita Payne (Bruce) of McDonough, and Kenneth Upchurch of Roswell; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Hayes will be on Saturday, July 30, 2016 – 2:00 PM at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough with Rev. Dr. Stephen Batts officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 3:30 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the funeral.
