Margaret Elvira Ethridge

Mrs. Margaret Elvira Ethridge, age 56 of Monticello, Georgia passed away October 17, 2017. She was born in Atlanta to Nathalie Elvira Matthews McClain and the late Shaw B. McClain, Jr. She was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Alan McClain. She attended Reinhardt College, was employed with H.B. Fuller for 25 years and was a member of the Locust Grove First Baptist Church. Margaret enjoyed fishing, hunting, field trials and playing the guitar and banjo. She loved antiquing and raising Beagles. She never met a stranger and was always an encourager. Survivors include her husband, Billy Ethridge; daughters, Jessica (Josh) Oliver of Sugar Hill and Elizabeth Ethridge of Decatur; grandchildren, Jacob, Emma and Anna; mother, Elvira McClain; sister, Mary (Dirk) Daube of Lawrenceville; brother, Michael K. McClain of Chamblee. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 – 2:00 PM at the Locust Grove First Baptist Church. Pastor Talon Noh will officiate. Interment will be on Saturday, October 21, 2017 – 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1003 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Locust Grove First Baptist Church, 2950 Tanger Blvd., Locust Grove, Georgia 30248 in memory of Margaret. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough.
