Mrs. Margaret W. Foster, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 after a brief illness. Mrs. Foster was born on May 24, 1924, in Dawson, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. V.V. Willis. She was a graduate of Albany High School. She later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia. Margaret was wedded to Warren E. Foster, of Phenix City, Alabama, on February 1, 1944. They enjoyed 66 years together before he preceded her in death in 2010. They had two daughters, Connie and Cathy who brought them much joy. Mrs. Foster retired from Clayton County Public Schools in 1986 after teaching school for 33 years. She received her Master’s Degree in Reading Education from Georgia State University and was an active member of the International Reading Association. After her retirement from teaching, Margaret embarked on a second career in the Real Estate field. Mrs. Foster served her clients with the same compassion and vigor that she served her students. Margaret was a member of McDonough First United Methodist Church and lived out her Christian faith on a daily basis. She loved wholeheartedly and always saw the very best in those around her. She will be missed so very much by all. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Connie Broom (Richard), of Lincolnton, Georgia, Cathy Thomas (Terry), of McDonough, Georgia, sister, Vicky Spradley, of Darien, Georgia, grandchildren, Chris Broom (Rebecca), of Toccoa, Georgia, Casey Broom (Heather), of Lincolnton, Georgia, Meg Norrell (Chad), of McDonough, Georgia, Travis (Courtney), of McDonough, Georgia, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and dear friend and caregiver, Carole Potts, of McDonough, Georgia. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia and interment is in Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, Georgia.
