Matthew David Geurts, age 42, of Jackson, GA passed away March 18, 2015. Matt was born in Green Bay WI. He served his country in the US Army as a Ranger for 4 plus years before he retired on disability. Matt enjoyed spending time with family and friends, photography, christian music, raising pigeons, and riding bicycles. Matt was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. He was a life member of the 75th Ranger Regiment out of Fort Benning, a life member of DAV and the Sheriff’s Association. Matt is survived by his parents, David and Eileen Geurts of Jackson; sister, Abigail Truthseeker of McDonough; grandmother, Evelyn Geurts of Green Bay WI; several aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him. Funeral service for Matt will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 – 3:00 PM at Sardis Baptist church with Rev. Tommy Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
