

Milton Douglas Tolleson, age 72 passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 in McDonough, GA surrounded by his family. He was born on May 31, 1952 in Fort McPherson in Atlanta, GA to the late Charles Tolleson and Carolyn Polk. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two sons Dustin and Trent Tolleson; siblings Mike McKinney, Greg McKinney and Gail Lowery.
Doug graduated from Walter F. George High School in 1970. He married Kathy on July 19, 1986 and they went on to complete their family with four children, in addition to Doug's daughter. He spent the entirety of his career in the new home construction business. He worked many years for John Weiland Homes and retired as the Vice President of Special Projects where he worked on custom built homes and philanthropic initiatives for Mr. Weiland. Doug’s passion was home building. He could build anything and took great pride in his work. As his children grew up, Doug loved going to all their sporting and equestrian events, Florida State Football games with his good friend John, deep sea fishing, golf outings, and guys trips to watch the Braves during spring training. He was also a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ in Covington, GA.
Doug is survived by his wife Kathy Davis Tolleson; children Tonya (Scott) Whitmire, Sydney (Joseph) Lanford, and Tanner Tolleson; grandchildren Grace and Luke Whitmire and Brooklynn Tolleson; siblings Sabrina Toney and Sonia Summers; and several other beloved friends and family members.
A celebration of life for Doug will be Friday, May 2, 2025 2:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, with a two hour visitation prior from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Strong Rock Helps which in turn supports Strong Rock Christian School, where his granddaughter Brooklynn attends. The school has, and continues to be, a blessing to the family and supports missions locally and internationally inspiring children to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
