Rebecca Craig Davis, age 89, of Jonesboro GA went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 17th, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong and independent woman due to the earlier than expected passing of her husband. She raised her son by herself through some tough years while maintaining a career. Her career started as a telephone operator at the Southern Bell office in McDonough as a teenager. After 40 years and working herself into a middle management position in Atlanta, she retired from Bellsouth. She was a woman that loved her family deeply and never met a stranger. Rebecca made her routine of visiting certain restaurants around town every week. Chick-fil-A Dwarf House in Forest Park and Piccadilly in Morrow were two of her favorites. She was kind and generous to everyone that worked at the restaurants and showered them with hugs before she left after her dinner. She established relationships with the waitresses and managers at these establishments. She was loved in return, even to the point of having waitresses arguing with each other on who was going to wait on her that day. Rebecca truly was a loving person to all she met whether she knew you or not, it did not matter to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Davis; parents Charlie and Willie Mae Craig; brothers Ed Craig and Grady Craig; and sister Ruth Lester.
Rebecca is survived by her son, Paul Davis and wife, Lisa (McDonough); grandchildren Holly Davis (McDonough) and Kelly Davis and wife, Morgan (Marietta); sister Juanita Bodine and husband, Larry (McDonough); sister Betty Wesley and husband, Harold (McDonough); brother Frank Craig and wife, Sandy (Ola), and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by many and especially her family that loved her dearly as well.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Rebecca's name to Southern Grace Hospice Foundation.
