Rev. Roger Powell, age 71, of McDonough, GA passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020. He was born in Blythesville, Arkansas to the late James Paul Powell and Evelyn Ruth Marie Powell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, James D. Powell and Evelyn Juanita Coppedge.
Rev. Powell is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon Powell; children Tina (Kenneth) Pettit, Tonya (Michael) Waldon, Tiffany (James) Bouie; grandchildren Kayla (Ben) Swatek, Alyssa Besse, Courtney Baron; great-grandchild Maverick Swatek; Siblings Paul (Ruby) Powell, Marylon (Wayne) Bruce; many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm for family and friends then service will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Go Church, Sharpsburg, GA. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made to Word of Grace Ministries (P.O. Box 881, Locust Grove, GA 30248). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family is requesting that all who attend wear a mask and practice social distancing.
