Mrs. Emily "Ruth" Carter, age 91 and a life long McDonough resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, loving wife to the late Robert Lee Carter. She was born in Ola, GA to the late Thomas and Willie Martin. Ruth was a talented seamstress and was still actively sewing. She enjoyed staying active and socializing by attending the Heritage Senior Center. In her spare time, Ruth would go fishing. Mrs. Carter was a member of Life in The Spirit Full Gospel Church. She is survived by her children: Randall (Deb) Carter of Stockbridge, Elaine Brown of Sunny Side, Barry Carter of McDonough, Carol (Louis) Rice of McDonough, and Joel (Lynn) Carter of Locust Grove; daughter-in-law, Denise Carter of McDonough, twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her son: Tim Carter and her three siblings. A private graveside service will be on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Clark officiating.
