Samuel Douglas Boone, age 74, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. He was born in Burnsville, NC to the late Charles Leonard Boone and Nell Marjorie Ray. Mr. Boone graduated from East Yancey High in 1967 and owned his own business, Boone Transport Inc., until retiring in 2014. He loved his family, especially his daughter and granddaughter. Sam always lit up the room with his stories and one liners. He is survived by his wife Rosanna Lynn, daughter Amy, and her husband Chris and granddaughter Ava of Orange Park, FL, mother in law Catherine Dwyer, brother Russell of Granite Hills, NC, brother Charlie of Roswell, GA and niece Kim Lasseter and husband Jay of Macon, GA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia.
