Mrs. Thelma Katherine Parker Johnson, age 83 of Hampton, Georgia passed away March 22, 2015. She was born in Clayton County, Georgia to the late Carl J. Parker, Sr. and Luana Johnson Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe L. Johnson and siblings, Carl Parker, Jr., Myron Parker, Marie Parker and Janelle Grellman. Thelma was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where she taught 4 &5 years olds in Sunday school for 52 years. She enjoyed cooking, singing, visiting, church and teaching children. Survivors include three sons, Ed (Barbara) Johnson of Concord, Doug (Nancy) Johnson of Hampton, Darrell (Phyllis) Johnson of McDonough; six grandchildren, Ryan (Christi) Johnson of Woodbury, Phillip (Carrie) Johnson of Griffin, Brandon (Dandi) Johnson of Griffin, Amy Johnson of McDonough, David and Elizabeth Johnson of McDonough; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Helen Steele of Jonesboro, Carolyn McCoy of Ola, Ethel (William) Foster of McDonough; brother, Harold (Grace) Parker of Hampton; brother in law, John A. Grellman of Hampton; sisters in law, Betty Parker of Stockbridge and Frances Parker of Alpharetta. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Henderson, Rev. John Tarrer and Rev. Chuck Conkle will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
