

Thomas Rowland Holder, a devoted father, beloved grandfather, and cherished member of the community, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 3, 1946, in Ola, Tommy was a graduate of Henry County High School in 1964. Tommy served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1972. Tommy’s strengths were many, and he dedicated his time at Beaudry Ford dealership, Eastern Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Henry County Water Authority, and Henry County Recreation Department. He spent a lot of his free time both watching and playing baseball and softball with his family and friends.
As a father, Tommy taught his children the values of kindness, hard work, and resilience. Tommy’s greatest joy came from being a grandfather. He took immense pride in his grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. He delighted in sharing adventures, telling stories, and creating lasting memories that they will hold dear. His great-grandchildren brought him even more joy, and he loved watching their lives unfold.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Christine Holder; brother, Perry Holder; and his beloved wife, Emily Holder, who was the love of this life and with whom he shared countless memories. Tommy is survived by his siblings Gladys (Johnny) Kuhn, Nan (Steve) Kuhn, Polly Downey, Jamie (Janet) Holder, and Danny (Donna) Holder; his son, Ron Holder and his wife, Amy; his daughter, Christy Young; his grandkids, Drew (Sadie), Christian, Jayden, Ryan, and Marissa; his great-grandchildren, Emmie Reese and Ace; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held on June 17, 2025 at Sharon Baptist Church. The visitation will begin at 12:30pm with the service following at 2:00pm.
