Virginia Morgan Underwood

Mrs. Virginia Morgan Underwood, age 75 of McDonough, Georgia passed away March 26, 2016. She was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Winfred Brown Morgan, Jr. and Merrille Jane Weeks Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Patrick Underwood, Sr. and by her brother, Winfred Brown Morgan, Jr. Virginia was a graduate of Bolton High School and McNeese State College, where she was a member of Phi Mu. She was a member of Wesley Way United Methodist Church, where she was director of the annual Mystery Dinner Theater. Virginia had a love for gardening and was Past President of the McDonough Garden Club. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, entertaining and activities with the Ramblers Senior Group from her church. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Kim (David) Lyons of McDonough, Suzy (Eddie) Wood of Villa Rica, Danny (Jeanette) Underwood of Mansfield, Billy (Georgette) Underwood of McDonough; grandchildren, Eddie (Tia) Wood, Ryan (Susan) Wood, Lindsay Wood, Robin Underwood, Anna Underwood, Audrey Underwood, Amanda Berstler; great grandchildren, Cameron Wood, Nathan Wood and Reagan Wood. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, 2016 - 2:00 pm at Wesley Way United Methodist Church. Pastor Kevin Barnes will officiate. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Wesley Way United Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Mrs. Underwood. The family requests that guests to the visitation and funeral wear spring colors in memory of Mrs. Underwood’s love for flowers and gardening.
