Brother Walt was an awesome man and great brother, always smiling and cutting up. He brought joy to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed!

PART 2 OF 2

*My Dad, Walt, he too was a fisher of men, to share a joke and a laugh, a little bit of intriguing magic, or a token coin, but it was the end of the moments of being with him that he always made others feel special and blessed with, “and here is a prayer for you to go with that.....”

*My Father was a Master Mason for 50 years.  Learning and teaching the foundations of masonry, building his own mind about God through his biblical 📖 memory work as he trained-up others in their walk.

*Throughout Dad’s life, sometimes he drifted off the right path, but he kept righting his personal ship through prayer 🙏🏻 and bible study ~ and right living.  Dad always gave the credit to God ~ The One who gave His Son on the Cross.  Because through Jesus, Dad received Grace and Mercy for his sin.  He had faith and ~ simply asked Him.

*Just a man I call Dad, a born sinner ~ who leaned in really, really ~ 
really close to God.

PART 1 of 2

*My daddy was just that, my “Daddy” as a little girl, who became my “Father” in my grown up world.  My “Father” who became my “Friend”💕, who with time and talking and praying just like that ~ until the very end. 

*He was known by everyone as “Walt” or “Walter” ~ “Waltie” to his bride, but only as, “little Buckey”😘to his Mother when he played by her side.  

*From his first grandchild to all of his many great’s, he’s fondly known as “Pop”, or “Pop-Pop” and kiddingly as “Pop-Pop-a-re-bop the old rag mop.”😜

*As a successful “business man” known as the “Cheese 🧀 Man,” he employed many hundred’s of employees and helped  grow a working boy into a grown man.  He knew how to wheel a deal of a wheel of cheese, and promote Borden’s biscuits and pastas to a lots of grocers around Atlanta, that were pleased. 

*He certainly loved his fishing 🎣 adventures, to make up poems and songs about, “casting his bait to lake and back again”.  Or, “dropping a line in to the deep blue sea, until ~I reel in ~ the big 🎣 one you’ll see!”

*More often than not, he loved fishing so he could be with nature, his family and friends.  It was more about the boyish banter and challenges of the catches ~ and always the tales of, “you should have seen 😎 the one that got away....”


My heart is heavy and saddened to hear that Walt has passed but I do rejoice that he’s now in the presence of the Lord!  Though we may be thinking, “He’s gone…” all of heaven is celebrating his arrival and reveling, “Here he comes!” When I think that Walt has already seen Jesus, the One he loved and often spoke about, my heart starts to smile again.  (I can’t help but wonder what he could tell us all right now!)

To me, Walt was an "always" kind of person: 
•	Always had a smile to share.  
•	Always cheerful & encouraging.  
•	Always unconditionally loved & accepted others. 
•	Always genuinely interested in others... and I'm thankful it included me! 
•	Always loving, kind & considerate.
•	A wise & deep thinker who was smart, jovial, funny, entertaining, interesting & a great conversationalist too! 
 
A special memory:  When my dad was in hospice, Walt came to visit. With that special Walt-like twinkle in his eyes, Walt looked at me and asked, “Did you know you can’t un-ring a bell once it has been rung?”  I said, “I don’t think I’ve ever thought about that before.” Then Walt continued, “Just like you can’t un-ring a bell once it’s been rung, you can’t un-see truth once you’ve seen it!”  (Walt’s incredible thought-provoking declaration was one I never want to forget. After that, we spent quite a while talking about life and its uncertainties but mostly about God’s certainties: His truth, His promises, His provisions, and things of God that never falter nor fail.)

Walt, to know him was to love him... and to know him was to be loved by him. I will greatly miss him! Our lives have been enriched because he’s been a very important part of it!

Our deepest sympathy to Melodi and all of Walt’s loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are that God's perfect unfathomable love and His perfectly sufficient grace, mercy and comfort will surround you all during this most difficult time.

Some things I admire about Walt...my Father-in-Law:

His ability to endear complete strangers to himself!

His love and patience for small children!

His persistence in perpetuating the Chain-and-Ring-Thing!

His many sayings and quips...some to make you laugh and some to make you think: 
          a couple of my favorites:
                   "stay out of the bushes" (to make you laugh)
                    "there's only one difference in life...knowing and not knowing" (how true!)

He is a man who accepted the things in life he could not change...most admirably, he embraced aging.  Because of it, he was more full of life than any octogenarian I've ever met.

Most of all, Walter Moore was my friend and he accepted me as his friend.  As years pass, many relationships develop strain, but there are those unique bonds throughout our lives which escape the corruption that is in the world, by transcending the wisdom of this world and embracing the wisdom that is from above. In view of such gifts from God...Walt was my "Best Buddy!"  I love you Walt!
               

I will miss his smile and cheerful heart.
He was such an encourager and light for his savior. Prayers for all..

I'm so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed seeing him at school, and he always brought joy to all who met him. May God comfort you and give you peace. May you feel his arms around you and holding you. 

You know, sometimes when someone passes away, you have to think long and hard to think of something good to say. This is not the case with Brother Walt, he was one of the kindest and nicest men I ever met. He was always willing to listen to you if you had a problem and would pray for you right there on the spot no matter where you were at. When my son was sick and had to undergo a serious and dangerous surgical procedure, Walt phoned me every day to check on him. He was a great example of a Christian. Men like Walt are hard to come by and he will be greatly missed.

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose...Oh how I will miss this .....  Brother Walt Moore, our hearts are heavy, the world having lost a wonderful man and Mason who has served his community with selfless service for many years. Your knowledge you have shared with the brethren over this years will never be lost. We can never say enough about the incredible work you have done with the children as the Ambassadors to the Masonic Home. While upon bended knee, for you, we pray the Master's Last Prayer. From our family to yours, God Bless.

Brother Walt I never saw you not smile and share a word or two of encouragement! Our fraternity is sad today as we ponder your loss. Our hope is in the God of Heaven and earth, the maker of all that is Good. Rest easy our Brother, after a life well lived.

Brother Walt was one of a kind. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to greet everyone. He will be missed!

Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Melodi Prestage-Moore of McDonough; children, David Moore (Pam) of Fayetteville, Bill Noceti (Donna) of Fresno, CA,  Bonnie Winfree (Paul) of San Diego, CA, Jennifer Sparks of McDonough, Mark Moore (Paula) of McDonough and Ann Waiting of McDonough; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
