

Bobby Jean Williams of Osage died Saturday evening, February 16, 2013, at the age of 88. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. Butch Emmit officiating. Interment will follow in Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born October 27, 1924, in Osage, Texas, the daughter of the late Bob Henry and Lockey Bell (Martin) Gatlin. She began her education in Osage and was a 1941 graduate of Gatesville High School. She later received her nurse’s training as a medication aid at McLennan Community College in Waco. On September 6, 1941, she married Robert Bailey Williams in Gatesville. After fifty-seven years of marriage, he preceded her in death December 22, 1998.
After living in McGregor, the couple moved to Osage Community west of Crawford in 1979 where they made their home. While living in McGregor, she was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church and attended Sunday School. However; upon moving to Osage, she joined Osage Baptist Church and continued to be active there as long as her health permitted. Throughout her life, she enjoyed quilting, working puzzle books and watching game shows on television. For eighteen years, Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center employed her in the labor and delivery area. She later devoted twenty-eight years to Westview Manor Nursing Home in McGregor as a medication aid prior to her 2002 retirement. She received a plaque in 1991 from Westview Manor as Employee of the Year.
Also preceding her in death was a son Bobby Wayne Williams; a sister, Betty Gatlin Fisk; a granddaughter, Connie Celeste Carmichael and a grandson, Ronnie Wayne Williams.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Williams of Woodway, David Williams and wife Michelle of Valley Mills; two daughters, Jean Smith of Crawford, Karla Tomas and husband Gary of Osage; a daughter-in-law, Donna Williams of Osage; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
