Cassie Sneed Davis

Cassie Davis of McGregor died Thursday night, July 21, 2011, at the age of 91. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. Cliff Herrington and Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis was born March 14, 1920, in Novice, Texas, the daughter of the late Pete and Cleo (Reeves) Sneed where she graduated from high school. On December 20, 1939, she married David Randolph Davis in Abilene, Texas. After fifty-nine years of marriage, he preceded her in death December 9, 1999.

In 1961, she moved to McGregor from Caldwell. For fifteen years she served as secretary for the McGregor Chamber of Commerce and six years as secretary at First Baptist Church for Dr. Cliff Herrington. Later upon returning to McGregor, she became a member of College Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Jo Crelia and husband Charles of Waco, Judy Story and husband Jim of Port Lavaca; four grandchildren, David Crelia, Dana Crelia McFarland, Stephen Story, Carol Story; five great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
