Frances "Snooky" Smith

Frances “Snooky” Smith, age 95, passed away January 1, 2026, in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday January 5, 2026, at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas with Brother Chad Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, at the funeral home.

Frances was born on January 23, 1930, to Thomas James and Ruie Thelma (Deal) Smith in Ocee, Texas. She attended school in Crawford, Texas. Frances was a longtime resident of McLennan County. Frances worked for Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Waco, Texas, as an inspector from 6/5/1956 to 7/31/1990 (34 years). She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocee, Texas where she was baptized in Hog Creek at an early age. Frances enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Richard (Dick) Smith, Elmer (Claybo) Smith, Jimmy Smith, Earl Wilson Smith, Tommie Ruth Smith, and Bobbie Joyce Owen.

Survivors include her sister, Alice Jane Nelson and husband, Billy Pat of Crawford, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
