Lois Evelyn Newman, 91, of Moody, Texas passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Moody, with the Reverends Mickey Fugitt and Tom Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery.
Mrs. Newman was born on November 18, 1923 to Lester “Buddy” Lane and Emma Lane. She married Isaac Jack Newman on March 26, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1969.
Lois graduated from Bruceville Eddy High School in 1943. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moody for 79 years, and was a member of WMU, church librarian, and a Vacation Bible School teacher. She was also head of the Beautification Committee. Mrs. Newman worked for the Blue Bonnet Ordinance Plant, was a beautician for 13 years, a sales clerk for JC Penney, and a Mary Kay Cosmetics sales representative for 20 years.
Survivors include, son Bryan Jack Newman and wife Debbie; two grandsons, Chris and Nathan.
