

Mattie Mooney Graham of McGregor died Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013, at the age of 86. Funeral services were 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Dr. Katie Long officiating. Interment followed in Post Oak Cemetery. A visitation was from 9 to 10 A.M. Saturday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs Graham was born November 19, 1926, in Oglesby, Texas, the daughter of the late Jim Harrison and Esther Mae (Arnold) Mooney where she was a 1943 graduate of Oglesby High School. She continued her education at Toby’s Business College in Waco. For thirty-two years Texas A&M Research employed her as a secretary prior to her 1980 retirement. On June 5, 1948, she married Billie Bob Graham in Oglesby. After sixty-five years of marriage, he preceded her in death October 12, 2013. In 1948, she and Billie Bob moved to McGregor where they made their home.
Mattie was a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church of Oglesby. She along with Billie Bob enjoyed hunting dove.
Also preceding her in death were her twin brothers, Cecil and Clyde Mooney and a sister-in-law, Lucille Mooney.
Survivors include a brother Lloyd W. Mooney of Huntsville; to nephews, Jimmy Mooney of Huntsville, Kenneth Mooney of Victoria and a niece Monetta Frenza of Huntsville.
Active casketbearers were Gene Clements, Al Frenza, Lloyd Kortis, Mike Long, Randy McClinton and J.D. Mooneyham. Honorary casketbearer was Lloyd Mooney.
