
Melissa “Missie” Humphrey of Waco died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at the age of 42. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. at College Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend David Thompson officiating.
On November 20, 1970, Missie was born the daughter of Douglas Gregory and Diane Elizabeth (Rucker) Stewart, Jr. in Covington, Kentucky. It was there where she graduated from Holmes High School in 1988 and late continued her education at Daymar College in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. In 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Coding, having been on the Dean’s List and a Presidential Award winner.
In 2012, she moved to McGregor for a few months prior to moving to Waco. Throughout her life, she enjoyed making candles and various types of Jewelry.
Preceding her in death was a son, James Lemuel Humphrey, Jr. in 1994 and her father, Douglas Gregory Stewart, Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Diane Brooks of McGregor; her step-father, Brent Brooks of McGregor; two sons, Gary Ray Humphrey and Joseph Allen Humprey both of Covington, Kentucky;
Three daughters, Jessica Renee Jackson, Tyanna Ruth Humphrey and Shana Allana Humphrey all of Covington, Kentucky; a brother, Robert Bright and wife Christina of Elsmere, Kentucky; two sisters, Krystal Arellano and husband Epifanio of McGregor and Jordan Smith of London, Kentucky.
