

Merle Lee Goff, 75, of McGregor, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Main Place, 315 Main Street in McGregor.
Merle was born on June 9, 1938 in Belton, Texas to James Cecil and Lucy Edna (Hill) Goff. He married Billie McMullen on October 15, 1983 in Crawford Falls Park and they celebrated over 31 wonderful years together. Merle was a natural born salesman, he could sale anything. He was a master pool player and won numerous trophies through the years. Merle was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather; he loved his family. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Billie Goff of McGregor, sons; James Robert Goff and girlfriend, Lindsay of McKinney, Texas, Merle Goff Jr. and wife, Lucy of Friendswood, Texas, Gordon Goff of McGregor, Texas, Michael Goff of Katy, Texas and Richard Oswald of Waco, Texas, daughters; Kelley Updegraff and husband, Robert of Waco, Texas, Erin Goff and her fiancé, Aaron Canterbury of Toano, Virginia, Kelly Oswald of Dallas, Texas and Julie Pledger and husband, Craig of Lorena, Texas, brother; J.C. Goff of McGregor, Texas, sister; Delores Bigony and husband, Frank of Arlington, Texas, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
