Nelva Steinkamp

Nelva Doris (Westerfeld) Steinkamp, 91, passed from this life to eternal life on July 19, 2022 in Waco, Texas. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, TX with Reverend Tom Beers officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, TX.

Nelva was born on October 22, 1930 in McLennan County, Crawford, TX. She resided the majority of her life in the Crawford area and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Nelva graduated from Crawford High School 1948 as Valedictorian.

Nelva married Billy Ray Steinkamp on May 26, 1950 in Crawford, TX. She worked through the years for S. Amsler Co., Heart of Texas Music, Eldon Schmalriede Feed Store, and City of Crawford as a bookkeeper. Nelva was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ida (Rabbe) Westerfeld, her beloved husband of 63 years, Billy Ray Steinkamp, brothers, Cleo, Charlie Jr., and Ray and son-in-law, David Bone.

Survivors include her son, Fred Steinkamp and wife, Kay of Richmond, TX, daughter, Linda Bone of Huntsville, TX, son, Ricky Steinkamp and wife, Angela of Crawford, TX; grandchildren: Sara Steinkamp, Lacy Sparkman and husband, Ryan, Erin Nelson and husband, Stephen, Jedediah Bone and wife, Jennifer, Josiah Bone and wife, Meagan, Elizabeth Steinkamp, Maggie Miller and husband, Kent, Daniel Steinkamp and wife, Lily, and Lucas Steinkamp; great-grandchildren: Zoey and Riley Sparkman, Tristan, Titan, and Taylor Nelson, Raylan Bone. Kinsley and Jensyn Bone, Ivy Steinkamp, and Beau Miller.
