

Sandra Pieper of Crawford died Wednesday night, February 6, 2013, at the age of 65. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Memorial Park under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at Cole Funeral Home.
Miss Pieper was born January 19, 1948, in Clifton, Texas, the daughter of the late Edmond and Elsie (Sandhoff) Pieper. The life-long Crawford area resident was a 1967 graduate of Crawford High School. She began her working career at Monnings Department Store in Waco in the office for several years. She later was employed at Texas Farm Bureau as a mail clerk and retired after thirty-five years of service where she was awarded numerous service pins throughout her career. While working at Texas Farm Bureau, she was employed part time at Syzygy for a few years.
Throughout her life, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she attended Sunday School, was a member of the Hope Circle, served as a former church treasurer and served on the church council. In her later years, she enjoyed many hours of cross stitch.
Survivors include a sister, Joyce Holmes and husband Bill of Crawford; a nephew, Dave Holmes; a niece, Sharon Westerfeld; five great nieces and nephews, Stacie Anderson, Jill Holmes, Amy Wolfe, Todd Westerfeld, Taylor Holmes; three great great nieces and nephews, Caden Anderson, Ainsley Anderson and Ryker Wolfe.
