

Shirley Trigg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt and dear friend of Eddy died Thursday morning, June 10, 2010, at the age of 65. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Jeremy Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Eddy Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs. Trigg was born January 27, 1945, in Waco, Texas, the daughter of the late Edward Franklin and Lizzie Mae ( Harper) Holt where she was a 1963 graduate of Moody High School. On June 27, 1964, she married Allen Leonard Trigg in Waco and moved to Eddy that same year. She has made her home in Eddy, reared her children, made friends and gave of herself to others and her community.
Shirley had a love for little children and they had a love for her. For several years, she operated a home day care. She and Allen enjoyed “cook offs”, winning several trophies. Fishing brought joy to her life as well as being a dynamite “42” and card player. She was also an avid reader. Footprints was her favorite poem. However, her passion was “scratch offs” and as one would think, she usually won. She had a very special love for all of her family.
Also preceding her in death grandparents, a grandson, several aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish here memory are her loving, caring and devoted husband, Allen L. Trigg, Sr., a son Allen L, Trigg, Jr. and wife Tisha of Valley Mills; a daughter, Debbie Trigg of Eddy; two grandsons, Taylor and Tanner Trigg of Valley Mills who she loved tirelessly; three brothers, Frank (Frankie) Holt and wife Cindy of Eddy, Alton Holt and wife Carolyn of Waco; Jerry Holt and wife Trina of Moody; a sister, Brenda Taylor and husband James of Waco; one uncle Bobby Ray Harper of Post; two aunts, Faye Smith and husband Raymond of Arlington, Loraine McKee and husband Lowell of Eddy; sister-in-law Delores Sincerney and husband Eddie; a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Max who she spoiled.
Active casketbearers will be her nephews, William Holt, Bubba Ash , a dear friend Butch Schollenberg, classmates, Julio Quiroz, Kent Donaldson and Tommy Ross. Honorary casketbearers will be Uncle Lowell McKee, Gene McBride, Bill Vinson and Randy Lanier.
The family extends a special “thank you” to Wilda, Elaine and “the Beckey’s” from Providence Hospice for all the loving care, concern and support they gave us during this difficult time.
You never saw Shirley without a smile and you always got a hug. Never an unkind word was spoken, she never held a grudge. She loved to live and she lived to love. She gave and fought her best – now she gets to rest. We will miss you, we draw comfort in knowing you loved us back. Safe journey gentle one, safe journey.
