Walter Lincoln Pierce, 84, of McGregor, Texas passed away on Saturday 24, 2021 at Westview Manor. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas, with Pastor Philip Riegel officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at the funeral home.
Walter was born in Apache, Oklahoma on October 30, 1936 to Raymond Pierce and Alma (Hope) Pierce. He attended school in Apache, Oklahoma, California, Borger, Texas, and McGregor before dropping out and joining the Air Force in 1963. Walter retired from the Air Force after 20 years. While in the service, he was stationed in Alaska, Florida, Las Crus, New Mexico, and the Philippines where he met his wife, Naty. He also worked at Orkin, Baylor, Huck Company, and at Brookshire Brothers in McGregor. He was a member of 100F.
Preceding Walter in death were his parents, son, sister, and a great grandchild.
Survivors include wife, of 50 years, Naty Pierce; daughter, Debbie Pierce of Moody; sisters, Deanna Bennet of Corsicana, Karen Spradley of McGregor, Sheila Pierce of Waco; brothers, Gerald and wife, Eddie, of Lorena, Ray and wife, Linda, of McGregor, James, and Missy of McGregor; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church, McGregor, Texas or the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department.
