Archie Hundley Brooke

Archie Hundley Brooke, 91, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed away August 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aurelia Brooke; four brothers, one sister. He is survived by two daughters, Vivian B. Bailey and her husband, Jack H. Bailey, and Susanne B. Duff and her husband, Fred Duff; four grandchildren, Walter and Scott Bailey, Sara Outten and Jessie Good; 10 great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Brooke, Dylan, Matthew, Tyler, Heather, Dru, Brandon, Autumn and A.J.; three nieces, Betty Jacobson, Joan Cauley and Sandra Miller.

Mr. Brooke was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He retired from DuPont after 42 years of service, was a 60 year member of New Highland Baptist Church, formerly East Highland Baptist, member of VFW Mechanicsville 9808, and a 40 year member of the Model A Club of America.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., and where a funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, at 2 p.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Highland Baptist Church, 9200 New Ashcake Rd., Mechancisville, Va. 23116.
