She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Major; and a daughter in law, Bernice F. Major. Christine was a devoted Christian mother to Robert S. Major, Charles D. Major, Carolyn M. Hufner (Wayne), and David W. Major D.D.S. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson; as well as other relatives and friends; and one special family friend, Beverly Waller.
After raising her family, she worked at Miller and Rhoads for 14 years and even obtained her first driver’s license at age 71. “Teeny” enjoyed family trips to North Myrtle Beach for over 65 years making wonderful memories. She and Sam traveled to England, Europe, and many places in the United States.
She was a member of Northside Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

The family will receive friends 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, December 9th, at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., in Mechanicsville, VA. A funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 10th, at Northside Baptist Church, 7600 Studley Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
