Obituary of Dolly Campbell Rutledge
Dolly was born in Pitcher, Oklahoma. She lived there until the age of 10 when her mother met and married a man from the Navy. He became a wonderful father to her and her siblings and adopted them. During her younger years she was introduced to different lifestyles from where her father was stationed throughout the United States. She graduated from high school in 1962 and studied at a local community college. She moved to Newport News, Va. where she started working for Noland Company in 1964. She met her first husband Charles through a mutual friend. They were married in 1965 and the marriage lasted 18 years. She continued to work for Noland until 1969 when their daughter Lisa was born. She returned to work for Noland when their daughter entered elementary school. In 1984 she met her current husband Jeff, They were married in 1990 with family and friends by their side. Jeff’s job moved them to various locations before landing them in Mechanicsville, VA in 1993. Dolly worked for Henkles and McCoy and other companies in the Mechanicsville area before her retirement. Dolly was known as having an outgoing personality and was sassy at times. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend to all. She will be truly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents Eva and Jim Campbell, her younger sister Susy Campbell Wayne (Doug), and her brother Tommy Campbell.
