Mr. Myron Monte Hendrickson Jr.

HENDRICKSON, Myron Monte, Jr., 86, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed on to his Heavenly Home surrounded by family, July 15, 2017. He was born March 18, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a Navy Veteran, who served in the Korean War on the USS Pine Island.
Myron formerly lived in Dallas, TX where he met and married his sweetheart, Janis Rae Potter Hendrickson. Recently celebrating 61 years of marriage. He relocated to Virginia in 1966 and worked for the United States Postal Service in Washington, D.C. as a Transportation Manager for 32 years until he retired.
Myron was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved classical music, the news, wood making, stamp and coin collecting. He especially adored his wife, Janis, always wanting to make sure she was well taken care of. A very devoted grandfather to his 6 grandchildren and his great-grandson.
Myron is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Mae Ownens Hendrickson and Myron M. Hendrickson, Sr. and a granddaughter, Heather Noel Hendrickson. Myron is survived by his wife, Janis Rae Potter Hendrickson; sister, Mary Frances Hendrickson Hughes of Dallas, Texas; his two sons, Robbie, and Monte and his wife Bonnie of Stafford; and daughter-in-law Denise of Richmond. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Jeremy, Brooke and Kaylee and great-grandson, Landon.
A visitation at Woody Funeral Home-Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23116 is scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. and interment at Signal Hill Cemetery. All that knew and loved Myron are welcome to attend his service.
