Sylvia Bloomer Harris

Sylvia Anne Bloomer Harris, 81, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harris; parents, George and Edith Bloomer; sister, Barbara Gibson; and brother, Johnny Bloomer. Sylvia worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse with MCV for a few years. Once her children were born, she stayed home with them. She enjoyed cooking, reading and doing crafts. Left to cherish her memory are her children, George “Warren” Harris and Sherman Allen Harris; grandson, Vince Harris; sister, Linda Pickett (Danny Layman); sister-in-law, Sybil Harris; several nieces, nephews and extended family; and longtime, devoted friends, Carolyn Allen and Margaret Rice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, Va. 23069.
