She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Johnson Thomas Sanford, her daughter, Rachel Sanford Burruss and her husband Steven, her son, Thomas Johnson Sanford II and Crystal Koontz, her mother, Mildred Harris Nichols, two brothers, Aubrey Wayne “Nick” Nichols and wife Judy, and Frank Gregory Nichols and wife Susan.
She was a member of New Hanover Presbyterian Church, having served as a Deacon and choir member. She was a loving, dedicated wife, mother and friend.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, on Thursday, November 29, at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Rd. A memorial service will be held at 11am, on Saturday, December 1, at New Hanover Presbyterian Church, 10058 Chamberlayne Road,
