Beverly Jean Vance

Beverly “Bev” Jean Vance, 87, of Medford, Oregon, passed away peacefully from natural causes on October 13, 2025, in her hometown of Medford. A beloved mother, sister, and friend, Bev will be fondly remembered for her spirit, quick sense of humor, and deep love for both her family and her pets—especially her beloved cat, Khloe.

Born on April 26, 1938, in Medford, to Ila and Russell Hogue, Bev spent her life rooted in the Rogue Valley community she dearly loved. She grew up alongside her siblings Rick Hogue, Chris Rupert, and Debbie Quinn. She also had a group of high school friends with whom she stayed in touch.

Bev married Rich Vance, and together they built a family grounded in love, laughter, and strong values. Her proudest moments centered on her children and grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Bev is survived by her daughters Lisa Vance (Ann) and Tammie Allen (Bill), her siblings, grandchildren- Rya, Natalie, Erin and Wesley, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rich, her parents- Russell and Ila Hogue, Grandparents- Ollie and Dan Evans and Grandmother Frances Taylor. Also, her mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Lew Vance.

Bev loved all sports—cheering on the UO Ducks—staying active with rowing workouts and walks. She and Rich shared many trips together to the Oregon coast, family cabin at Lake of the Woods and Hawaii. Bev’s love of music was ever-present, filling her home with the latest artists and groups. Before her health decline, she especially loved going to the Britt Festival and other live music performances and enjoying a glass of wine (or 2!).

In accordance with her wishes, Bev will not have a formal funeral service. Her family will celebrate her life with a gathering in late spring. Bev is now free from physical pain and dementia, and her family takes comfort knowing she is at peace. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her dedicated caregiver team and the compassionate staff at The Springs at Anna Maria.
