David Allen Hughes

David was born on August 13, 1960 in Lodi, California to Lola Hughes. He graduated from North Medford High in 1979. He worked at Rogue Valley Memorial Hospital for over 33 years. While in high school he started working in the laundry. After graduation, he worked his way up to being a cardiology technician. He continued to work in the cardiology /pulmonary services until 2012.

David married Rita DePew in 1989 and the couple had two sons. He was very involved in the children’s church at Mountain Church for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, firearms and electronics. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, kind, gentle man of integrity.

David is survived by his wife Rita, sons Evan Hughes, and Eugene Hughes; mother in law, Peggy J. DePew; mother, Lola Minenna, all of Medford, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father Harvey Cavalier; step father, Joseph Minenna, and father in law, Jerry DePew.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, January 9, 2021 at Moutain Church, 1 East Main St., Medford, OR. All are welcome to celebrate David’s life.

The family would like to thank the physicians and the staff of Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers family would appreciate donations be made in David’s honor to Southern Oregon Humane Society.
