Douglas Otis Nelson Sr.

Doug’s story began when he was born to Beth and George Nelson. He was raised by his stepfather Larry Morrison and his mom Beth. He grew up with his sister Nina in California.

Doug met the love of his life Judi in 1965 and the lovebirds got married 3 months later. They together had five children Lisa, Michelle, Marabeth, Dougie and Dustin. He had 21 grand and great grandchildren and 2 more on the way. He was known by Poppy to them all.

Doug was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1971 and was most proud of telling people the hope found in the Bible. He enjoyed the ministry with family and friends and had a strong hope of living forever in paradise.

He was always ready for a good laugh! His incredible sense of humor and mischievous

twinkle in his eyes significantly impacted anyone he came in contact with. He loved tennis, running, and bicycling. He also loved his dogs that he affectionately called fur people. He always found the humor in every situation. Doug and Judi loved playing cards with friends and family and he loved to win!

He would want to be remembered with great happiness until we meet him again. What an awesome reunion this is going to be.
