Ida was born June 5th, 1943, in McMinnville, Oregon to Mava Gene and George Russell Lambert. Ida wore many career hats in her lifetime, encompassing the range of logger, caregiver, homemaker, the first female longshoreman in the state of Washington, and much more. She was a pioneer who broke glass ceilings for generations to follow.
Ida was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Butts (married 1960), James Grush (married 1965), and Loy Chad Jones (married 1999). She is survived by her two sisters, Joyce Wright and Linda White Elk, and her brother, Russell Lambert. Ida is also survived by her children Anita Fogarty, Russell Grush, Bob Grush, and Jaci Cobb; her grandchildren Kelly, Kenneth, Kurtis, Joseph, Laura, Jacob, Betty, and James; and great grandchildren MaryAnn, Natalie, Alli, Jade, Kinsley, Ivy, Nora, Elijah, Declan, Willem, Jack, and Morgan.
Ida enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening, carpentry, good conversation, and spending time with family. Her family and friends will remember her as charismatic, determined, strong-willed, and full of love.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the summer of 2024. In lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the veterans Wounded Warrior Project in her name and honor.
