She graduated from Jefferson Davis Hospital School of Nursing at the University of Houston in 1951.
She married Lieutenant Robert Johnson on May 17, 1952, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1989. They had two children; Bob Johnson (deceased), retired Navy, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Laurie Campbell, Registered Nurse, of Jacksonville, Oregon. She is survived by four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, retired Colonel, Frank Proctor of Florida.
Jamie loved being a nurse and worked as a staff Registered Nurse and then as a Nursing Supervisor at Rogue Valley Medical Center (now Rogue Regional Medical Center) for 31 years.
