Kimberly “Kimi” Howitt-Ross, age 60 of Medford, OR passed away peacefully in her home on June 24, 2025. Kimi was born on December 21, 1964 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado to Alan “Randy” Hughes and Nancy Hughes (Monroe).
As a young girl, Kimi loved expressing herself through art, writing, and modeling contests. But it was caring for her baby brother that awakened her deep love for motherhood—a role that would become her greatest joy. Kimi graduated from Medford High School in 1983 and was later married to her devoted husband Chuck Ross in 2001.
Kimi filled every space with love, kindness and beauty. Despite the hardships she faced, Kimi’s faith sustained her, allowing her to hold onto joy even in times of heartbreak. She was a friend to all—even the smallest creatures she encountered.
Kimi will be deeply missed by her husband, Chuck Ross; her mother, Nancy Monroe; her half-brother, Curtis Hughes (Awilda); her step-siblings, Cristi Remick (Michael), Melanie Sam, and Scott Monroe (Bill Carney); her sons, Lance Ross (Aime), and Blaine Howitt (Katie); her step-son Jeremy Ross; and her seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Randy Hughes; her adoptive father, Ralph Monroe; her brother, Bryan Monroe; her brother-in-law Paul-Sam; and her stepson, Kyle Ross.
A celebration of life service will be held on July 19th at 10am at Table Rock Fellowship, in lieu of flowers, Kimi’s family request that a donation be made to the children’s ministry at Table Rock Fellowship or to Southern Oregon Humane Society.
