I am heartbroken.  Matthew was my student at Rogue Community College.  Having taught for 20 years,  there are few stand-out students, and he  was a stand-out.  Matthew was kind, gentle, loving, and his smile would light up a room.   His journal entries moved me; in fact, one day I was getting my hair done (reading papers, of course), and my hairdresser asked if I was crying.  I told her yes and it was Matthew's writing that had moved me to tears.  And now I cannot stop crying every time I think about him. Why is he gone?   I will cherish the valentine he gave me in 2007.  I've placed it on my mantel in loving memory.

For Matthew's family -  I am deeply, deeply sorry.
