Ruth Annette Ghiselli passed away at age 81 on January 5, 2025. She is survived by her husband David of Medford, Oregon, son Edwin and his wife MelissAnne of Westminster, Colorado, daughter Emma of San Francisco, California, and sister Carol Kerns of Fullerton, California.
Ruth was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, spent her early years in Fairmont, and later moved to Arcadia, California. After graduating from Monrovia High School she moved to Stockton, California and earned a B.M. in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific. Ruth was active in the Mu Phi Epsilon music sorority for decades, and played her flute in local ensembles and bands.
Ruth and David married June 29, 1968. In 1971 they moved to Cupertino, California, where they lived and built their family. Along with raising her two children, Ruth worked as a music therapist, music teacher, and librarian before she embarked on a 20-year career as a school secretary.
Ruth loved to travel. She and David spent wonderful times camping, taking road trips, cruising, and RVing; she especially loved visiting Hawaii in later years. Always looking for a “water fix” Ruth made sure there was always a river, lake, or ocean as part of any trip. Other passions included needlepoint, knitting, and quilting; there were always multiple projects in progress. She will be remembered for her empathetic ability to connect to friend and stranger alike and her special lasagne served for family get-togethers. Remember Ruth by making a donation to your local library.
